What about an emergency? The safety of everyone on board is our utmost priority - this is without question. We will not head out if the weather is going to be unsafe. To put your mind at ease, our catamaran is designed for open ocean around-the-world travel and is designed to manage even storm conditions. However, we will only head out with you if weather is fair. Additionally, our catamaran has positive buyoancy...which means that even if it was full of water, the vessel would float above water (let's make sure we don't test that).
-
Will I get a good night's sleep? We hope so! On Saturday we will anchor overnight in well protected areas and there should be little movement. We furnished each bed with down feather comforters to keep you warm and cozy. Our guests always told us that they had a very restful night.

Will I get seasick? The seasickness concern is a reasonable question and that would be my first question too! Unlike sailing in the open ocean, sailing within the San Francisco Bay is generally very smooth as it is well protected from wind and waves. We are not aggressive sailors and making the trip as comfortable as possible is our priority. Just for the record, we never had a guest feel seasick in any of our sails in the San Francisco Bay. Because guests (and us) may get sea sick, we do not do tours out of the bay (e.g. whale watching tours etc.) The San Francisco Bay is very well protected, even so for each sail we chose our route and departure time to make sure the bay is comfortable for our guests. Depending on the weather and time of year, we may depart earlier Saturday morning to avoid any windy conditions. Sailing aboard BluReverie is suitable for families with children. For the comfort and safety of our guest, we will not head out if the weather is not conducive to a pleasant experience. As to "will I get seasick?" Everyone is unique and you would be the best person to know your sensitivity. If you are ok with a car ride on the highway, you should be fine aboard BluReverie Catamaran.
-
Will I have phone reception and can I charge my phone? Each cabin is equiped with 110VAC and at least two USB ports which you can use to charge your phone. We'll be in the San Francisco Bay and from our experience, we expect continuous cell coverage with AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Google Fi, etc throughout the sail.
-
Any physical limitations or recommendations?Entering/disembarking the catamaran from/to the dock or dinghy may require you to step over or climb up/down. You'll need enough dexterity to be able to carry yourself in these situations. There will be stairs to your cabins. Additionally, bedroom hallways are much narrower than homes and our bed length ranges between 74" (6 foot 2 inches) and 78" (6 feet 6 inches).
-
